The former wrestling star is attached to star in the comic book adaptation that Simon Kinberg will produce through his Genre Films label.

John Paul Russ’ comic book series is the latest in a fad of guides that describe how to overcome beasts.

Johnson, who earlier this year returned to the WWE scene and hosted this year’s WrestleMania XXVII, recently starred in Universal’s global hit Fast Five.

He is in production on Paramount’s G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation and will next be seen in Snitch.

Kinberg is known for writing features such as Mr And Mrs Smith and Sherlock Holmes. He is currently producing Elysium.
