Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington and Zero Dark Thirty actor Jennifer Ehle have joined the upcoming feature based on TV spy thriller Spooks.

Harington, best known for playing the heroic Jon Snow in HBO fantasy drama Game of Thrones, will star in the lead role as Will Crombie.

Ehle, whose recent credits also include The King’s Speech and Contagion, will play Dame Geraldine Maltby of intelligence service MI5.

The pair will join original Spooks star Peter Firth in the big screen outing of the BAFTA Award-winning BBC spy drama, which Altitude Film Sales is debuting here.

Spooks: The Greater Good will shoot in the first quarter of 2014, produced by Shine Pictures and Kudos.

The film is to be directed by Bharat Nalluri who was the originating director on the TV series.

Written by Spooks collaborators Jonathan Brackley and Sam Vincent, the film will be produced by Jane Featherstone and Stephen Garrett who were behind the TV series for the BBC and Ollie Madden (Sherlock Holmes), for Shine Pictures.
