Myriad chief Kirk D’Amico will handle worldwide sales and serves as executive producer alongside Christine Vachon and Mark Sloane of Alliance Films, which will distribute in Canada.

Joshua Jackson and Alexander Siddig will also star in the story of a Syrian expatriate who returns to his homeland and enlists the help of an old flame after his journalist daughter goes missing in Damascus.

Cairo Time’s Ruba Nadda wrote the script and will direct. Daniel Iron and with Lance Samuels are producing.

“We are so pleased that Marisa and Josh have joined this production,” Kirk D’Amico said. “Ruba’s background and knowledge of Syria, alongside this compelling and emotionally-charged story, should provide audiences with a unique view into an unstable and dangerous place that we only seem to know about from news headlines.”

“I am thrilled to be working together with Ruba again on Inescapable,” Iron said. “The script is has a real edge-of-your-seat quality – timely, intriguing, suspenseful. That, combined with such a wonderful cast, will  translate into a gripping and entertaining film.”

Telefilm Canada, OMDC, the Harold Greenberg Fund, DTI and the National Bank of Canada are financing the project.
