Oscar winning director Gabriele Salvatores's next project will be a screen adaptation of Niccolo' Ammaniti's critically-acclaimed drama, "Io Non Ho Paura."

Set in southern Italy in the 1970s, Io Non Ho Paura is the story of a 10-year-old boy who discovers another young boy who has been kidnapped by his own father. Produced by mini-major Medusa Film and Rome's Cattleya, the movie is scheduled to shoot in June.

The Italian director, who won a foreign language Oscar for Mediterraneo, is set to shoot after he wraps Amnesia which he is currently shooting with Diego Abatantuono and Sergio Rubini in key roles. Spain's Alquimia Cinema has just boarded the film.

Co-produced by Medusa and Maurizio Totti's Colorado Film, Amnesia tells three parallel stories that intersect in a night club.
