Spanish director Paula Ortiz is set to make her first feature film De Tu Ventana A La Mia. Local stars Raul Arevalo and Maribel Verdu likely are expected to play lead roles.
The drama about three women of different ages coping with the loss of their partners is being produced by Spanish outfits Oria Films and Amapola Films, who previously worked on Ortiz’ short films.
Puy Oria, head of Oria Films told ScreenDaily: “We are planning to shoot the film here in Spain in August once we have all the financing in place by July. Paula is finalizing the script and we have Raul Arevalo and Maribel Verdu more than 90% onboard. They love the story and we are all just waiting until July to proceed.”
Ortiz latest short film El Hueco De Tristan Boj, about a child who wants a plane that can fly to the top of the Himalayas, was in competition at last year’s New York Short Film Festival and is in the official selection of the Iberoamerican short film contest at next month’s Huesca Film Festival.
