Michael "Bully" Herbig, director-producer of German box-office phenomenon Manitou's Shoe, is planning a spoof of cult TV series Star Trek as his next film after asking viewers of his TV show Bullyparade to vote among four alternatives

"Basically, the whole thing was an act of desperation", Herbig explained. "I asked myself: 'Is there a life after Manitou's Shoe'' So I asked the people who made the film so successful".

Over 900,000 viewers registered votes on the show's website since the campaign launc on February 25. The winner - with 34% of the votes - is a space parody following the adventures of Captain Kork, Mr Spuck and Schrott of the "TRaumschiff" which has already appeared in sketch form in the Bullyparade show. TRaumschiff was closely followed by a sequel to Manitou's Shoe (31%), a new version of Sissi (26%), and "a film nobody had reckoned on" (8%).

Manitou's Shoe has been seen by over 11m cinemagoers and taken over Euros 61m in Germany as well as selling to several overseas territories.
