MARCH 14 UPDATE: Marvel Studios’ Black Panther now ranks as the 19th highest release of all time at the global box office after it overtook Transformers: Age Of Extinction on Tuesday.

Black Panther added $12.7m via Disney’s distribution channels to reach $1.1064bn and pass Paramount’s Transformers smash on $1.104bn.

Marvel Studios’ latest blockbuster has reached $535.6m internationally and $570.8m in North America. China has generated $76.8m, the UK $56.3m, South Korea $42.5m, Brazil $30.6m, and Australia $26.4m.

MARCH 13 REPORT: Marvel Studios’ Black Panther has become the 20th highest release of all time worldwide, Disney executives confirmed on Tuesday (March 13).

The latest Marvel Cinematic Universe tentpole added $13.9m on Monday to reach $1.0937bn and overtook The Dark Knight on $1.085bn.

A further $9.9m from international markets brought the running total to $528m. That is still some way behind the $565.7m North American haul, where the film has performed exceptionally well and ranks as the seventh highest release in history.

Black Panther has grossed $72.2m in its lead market of China, followed by $56.2m in the UK, $42.5m in South Korea – where a significant chunk of the story takes place – and $30.1m in Brazil.

Latest figures put Australia on $26.2m, France on $25.5m, Mexico on $24.7m, Germany on $17.7m, and Russia on $17.1m.

Taiwan has produced $12.4m, Indonesia $12.2m, Malaysia $9.8m, India $9.7m, and Philippines and Japan on $9.3m apiece.
