EXCLUSIVE: Italian producer/distributor Lucky Red is back in the buying groove, closing deals on four major new films during EFM.

Lucky Red has swooped for Dead Man Down, the revenge thriller by The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo director Nils Arden Oplev produced by Neil H. Moritz starring Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace, sold by IM Global.

The company has picked up Magic Mike, the Steven Soderbergh directed stripper movie starring Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer and Matthew McConaughey, sold by Filmnation.

A third acquisition is Kevin Macdonald’s doc biopic Marley, sold by Fortissimo.

Lucky Red has also taken awards contender My Week with Marilyn, sold by The Weinstein Company.

The deals were confirmed by Lucky Red’s Andrea Occhipinti. “We’ve been slow in acquisitions lately because we were spending time on Sorrentino’s This Must Be The Place production…but now we are back.”
