The German sales outfit has taken on world sales for the animated 3D feature, currently in production.

Here in Cannes, Sola Media is introducing buyers to Freddie Frogface, the new film from the producer behind Sunshine Barry & The Disco Worms. The German sales outfit has taken on world sales on the animated 3D family feature, currently in production and due for delivery in late 2010. A promo is available in Cannes.

Freddie Frogface, produced and co-financed by Crone Film, is billed as “a universal story about the importance of standing up for yourself.” The film is co-directed by animation director Peter Dodd, who previously worked on Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride and Sam Fell’s The Tale of Despereaux, and Gert Fredholm, who directed the live-action feature Lille Virgil og Orla Frøsnapper.

The creative producer is Erik Wilstrup. Nina Crone of Crone Film is producing. Crone’s previous credits include The World of Buster  (Bille August, 1984) , Peter Von Scholten (Palle Kjærulff-Schmidt,1987) Freud leaving home (Susanne Bier, 1991) and Sunshine Barry & the Disco Worms (Thomas Borch Nielsen, 2008).

The film is based on the book Orla Frösnapper by Danish writer Ole Lund Kirkegaard (1940-1979). SF Film is handling the theatrical release in Scandinavia.
