Anchor Bay will release Lleju Productions’ South Africa-set Crime saga Gangster’s Paradise: Jerusalema in June.

The film centres on a young hoodlum’s rise from small-time criminal to a powerful crime entrepreneur during the turbulent years before and after the fall of apartheid.

Ralph Ziman directed and stars District 9 cast members Robert Hobbs, Eugene Khumbanyiwa, Kenneth Nkosi, Louise Saint-Claire and Rapaulana Seiphemo from Tsotsi.

LLeju Production CEO Bill Perkins said: “Gangster’s Paradise: Jerusalema is a very intelligent film and deserves a theatrical release. We are confident that audiences will see those same qualities and both enjoy and appreciate the film.”
