EXCLUSIVE: Celsius takes on world sales (excluding North America) for the teen romance which premiered at Sundance.

Thierry Wase-Bailey’s London-based sales outfit Celsius Entertainment has swooped to take world sales rights (excluding North America) to Jonathan Kasdan’s teen romance The First Time, produced by Friends with Benefits producers Martin Shafer and Liz Glotzer (Castle Rock Entertainment).The film, which premiered in Sundance in January, will be unveiled to buyers by Celsius in the Cannes market.

The First Time follows two teenagers over the course of one weekend. Dave, a senior about to graduate, and Aubrey, a junior from a different school, meet one night at a party. What begins as a casual conversation soon turns into something more intimate, more romantic, and more complicated than either of them is ready for.

The film stars Dylan O’Brien, Britt Robertson, Victoria Justice, Craig Roberts, James Frecheville, LaMarcus Tinker, Maggie Elizabeth Jones and Christine Tailor. The executive producers are Carol Fuchs and Liah Kim.

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA) acquired all North American rights from Cinetic. The film will be released theatrically later this year in the US.
