Optimum swoops on Swedish WWII drama.

On the first day of the market, UK distributor Optimum Releasing has swooped to pick up rousing World War Two action drama, Beyond The Border (which premieres here at the EFM on NonStop Sales’  Berlin slate.)

Beyond The Border is a Swedish WWII action drama about the rescue of two young soldiers lost in the woods on Nazi occupied soil after crossing the Swedish-Norwegian border. December 1942, Optimum Releasing picked up UK rights in the wake of the film’s local release in Swedish cinemas, where it premiered Friday January 28th.

The deal was negotiated between Optimum’s Alison Meese and NonStop Sales’s Judith Toth.

Beyond The Border is directed by Richard Holm. It is the first part in a Swedish WWII trilogy. André Sjöberg, who co-stars, has also written and produced the film together with co-writer/producer Johnny Steen.
