The Works will handle theatrical release through its Universal partnership Indi VISION.

Universal Pictures UK has acquired all UK rights to Dexter Fletcher’s directorial debut Wild Bill. The Works is releasing theatrically via its partnership with Universal, Indi VISION, which releases independent films theatrically and on home entertainment in the UK.

The film has been a festival hit in San Sebastian (where it won the youth award), Rome, and London.

The deal was done with producers Tim Cole and Sam Tromans.

The film stars Charlie Creed-Miles, Liz White, Andy Serkis and Jaime Winstone in the story of an ex-con who returns home to try to become a better father to his sons.

Anchor Bay had previously been attached to handle the UK release of Wild Bill.
