The third Global Production Awards (GPAs) was held tonight (May 19) at Mademoiselle Gray Plage Barrière, with 14 competitive awards and one special recognition prize handed out to the finalists.

The GPAs, presented by Screen International in association with sister brands Screen Global Production and Broadcast, celebrated outstanding, sustainable work and highlight the best global locations, outstanding studio facilities and creative crews and ideas, reflecting the value they bring to local and international production teams.
The winners included Focus Features and Universal Pictures’ Touch, which collected the award for Outstanding Use of Locations, and UFEG’s Love Hurts, winner of Sustainable Production Award – Film. The TV version of the award went to UK production Awesome Animals And Mini Me.
The awards for the film commissions went to Spain in the country category, and Canada’s BC Film Commission for best city/region.
Another winner for Canada was Cinespace Studios for Studio of the Year, while the UK’s Garden Studios won Sustainability Initiative for its Re-Set Programme.
Emerging Location went to to Norway’s Frøya (Midgard Film Commission Norway), with London’s Ravenscourt Park Hospital collecting Location of the Year.
The Economic & Social Impact Award went to New Zealand’s Māoriland Productions and Film Festival.
Belfast won City Of Film, and A Quiet Love from Ireland’s Curious North Productions collected the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award.
The impact leadership award, newly introduced to recognise individuals making a measurable difference in their roles, went to Craig Gainsborough from New Zealand’s Greenlit.
The special recognition award went to Northern Ireland Screen for its innovative sustainability initiatives.
The awards are open to organisations and companies working in the film and TV industry, including studios, production companies, film commissions, locations, suppliers, manufacturers and any services involved in film and TV production.
The judging panel, assembled by specialist strategy consultancy and supporting partner Olsberg∙SPI, was drawn from across the industry, and included high‑end TV and film producers, senior production executives and film commission reps.
