Starway Film will distribute in Belgium.
The 38th Ghent Film Festival will close with the European premiere of Bruce Robinson’s The Rum Diary, starring Johnny Depp. In the film adapted from Hunter S. Thompson’s early novel, Depp plays a journalist who travels to Puerto Rico and struggles with Caribbean life and the lost souls he meets.
The cast also features Amber Heard, Giovanni Ribisi, Aaron Eckhart and Richard Jenkins.
Robinson is best known for directing Withnail & I and for writing The Killing Fields.
In Belgium, Starway Film will distribute The Rum Diary this autumn.
The Ghent Film Festival kicked off yesterday (Oct 11) and runs through Oct 22.
