Cvikova joins the Doha Film Institute as new head of international programming.

Ludmila Cvikova has been hired as the new Head of International Programming for the Doha Film Institute.

Cvikova joins DFI after more than a decade of programming for the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR). At Rotterdam, she selected film from around the globe, including Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Turkey, Greece and the Balkan region, as well working with IFFR’s CineMart and Hubert Bals Fund.

She has also served as advisor to festivals including Karlovy Vary, Locarno and Yerevan.

For two years, she also served as the Programme Director of the Art Film Festival in her native Slovakia.

She joins DFI’s existing Programming team: Executive Director, Amanda Palmer, Chief Arab Programmer Hania Mroue, resident filmmaker and programmer Chadi Zeneddin, as well as Tribeca Enterprises’ Chief Creative Officer Geoffrey Gilmore, Director of Programming, David Kwok and Senior Programmer, Genna Terranova.

The DFI runs year-round programming as well as working on the Doha Tribeca Film Festival (Oct 25-29).

Rotterdam will announce updates to its programming team in coming weeks.
