San Sebastian Film Festival’s Creative Investors’ Conference has confirmed attendees from Studiocanal, Black Bear, Neon, Head Gear Films and Fremantle.
Executives taking part include Mubi founder Efe Cakarel, Studiocanal’s Ron Halpern, 193’s Patrick Wachsberger, Head Gear Films’ Phil Hunt, A24’s Andy Roa, Fremantle’s Andrea Scrosati, Neon’s Elissa Federoff and Black Bear’s Laura Austin-Little.
Producers attending the conference, which is a collaboration with CAA Media Finance, include Pastel’s Adele Romanski, Killer Films’ Christine Vachon, Hera Pictures Liza Marshall, and Good Chaos’ Teresa Moneo.
The festival is partnering for the first time with Cannes’ Marche du Film’s Investors Circle programme to bring a delegation of private investors to the conference.
Topics will include the shifting landscape of the US industry, European challenges and opportunities, producers financing and shooting films across borders, the scaling up of the Spanish industry, and how filmmakers can learn smarter ways to work with brands.
“At a time when so much is changing in the film industry, it is so important to host a conference like this, to welcome these experts to share their insights with each other and with the festival’s industry badge holders, as well as having important networking sessions and meetings between the global experts and the Spanish film industry,” said festival director Jose Luis Rebordinos.
The conference will take place on September 22 and 23, with the festival running from September 18-26.
