‘Don’t Let The Sun Go Up On Me’

Moroccan filmmakers Asmae El Moudir and Laila Marrakchi won the €20,000, top prize, ex aequo, at the eighth edition of Marrakech’s Atlas Workshop, the industry event for Moroccan, Arab and African professionals.

El Moudir ’s Don’t Let The Sun Go Up On Me and  Marrakchi’s La Mas Dulce received €20,000 for their films, which are both now in post-production. 

Palestinian filmmaker Scandar Copti was among the winners of the development prizes with his project A Childhood, receiving €5,000.

This year’s event saw 28 projects from 12 countries presented to international industry attendees. There were also 11 participants in the Atlas Station. The prizes were decided by two different juries, one for the post-production awards and one for the development awards, with the funds given out totalling €120,000.
