The Critics Choice Association (CCA) will honour Ken Burns with the Critics Choice Impact Award at the 10th Annual Critics Choice Documentary Awards gala on November 9 in New York.
Burns’s credits include Oscar-nominated Brooklyn Bridge and The Statue Of Liberty in the 1980s, as well as The Civil War, The Vietnam War, and Leonardo da Vinci. Future projects include The American Revolution, Emancipation To Exodus, and LBJ & The Great Society.
The CCA will present the Pennebaker Award (formerly Critics Choice Lifetime Achievement Award) to Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady, the filmmaking team behind the Oscar-nominated Jesus Camp, as well as titles like Norman Lear: Just Another Version Of You, and The Boys Of Baraka.
Documentary nominations will be announced on October 20 across 18 categories.
The 31st annual Critics Choice Awards ceremony will be held on January 4, 2026.
