K5 International has struck a multiple-territory sale of Get Low to Sony Pictures Classics.

The deal covers the UK, Ireland, German-speaking territories, Latin America, CIS and South Africa.

SPC already had a North American deal for Get Low, where it has released for a successful box-office run of $9m and counting.

Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek and Bill Murray star in the film, directed by Aaron Schneider and produced by Dean Zanuck and David Gundlach.

Get Low is about a recluse in early 1900s Tennessee who plans his own funeral and invites the local community. Robert Duvall has been tipped for awards for his performance.

K5’s Daniel Baur negotiated the deal with Sony Pictures Classics.

Oliver Simon said “We’re thrilled with the results already achieved by Sony Classics in the US and look forward to repeating that success worldwide.”
