Universal Pictures Content Group has dated an August 14 North American theatrical release through Focus Features for the event cinema title Six The Musical Live!.
The Tony award-winning musical written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss originally debuted at the 2017 Edinburgh Festival Fringe show and centres on the six wives of King Henry VIII as they reclaim their narratives.
Liz Clare directed the film version, and Kenny Wax, Wendy and Andy Barnes, George Stiles and Dione Orrom are the producers.
The cast includes Jarnéia Richard-Noel as Aragon, Millie O’Connell as Anne Boleyn, Natalie Paris as Jane Seymour, Alexia McIntosh as Anna of Cleves, Aimie Atkinson as Katherine Howard, and Maiya Quansah-Breed as Catherine Parr.
The event was recorded at the Vaudeville Theatre in London and directed for stage by Lucy Moss and Jamie Armitage.
Six The Musical Live! has grossed a combined $8.5m from its theatrical releases in the UK and Australia through Universal Pictures Content Group.
