The film premiered at Cannes’ Un Certain Regard section this year and is based on Lidia Yuknavitch’s memoir and adapted for the screen by Stewart. It stars Imogen Poots in a portrait of a woman who, after an abusive childhood, escapes into competitive swimming, sexual experimentation, toxic relationships, and addiction before finding her voice through writing. It co-stars Jim Belushi, Thora Birch, Charlie Carrick, Susannah Flood, Kim Gordon, and Tom Sturridge.

The film will be released in America by The Forge and in France by Les Films du Losange, who are also handling international sales.
