Film Independent has announced that its 2011 Los Angeles Film Festival will run June 16-26 and begin accepting submissions on November 1.

Final deadline for the submission of shorts and music videos is February 11 and for the submission of feature-length narrative films and documentaries February 24.

Screenings and events will once again take place in and around the festival’s new downtown location, headquartered at LA Live and Regal Cinemas LA Live Stadium 14.

Now in its seventeenth year, the Los Angeles Film Festival features programs including the Filmmaker Retreat, Ford Amphitheater Outdoor Screenings and Poolside Chats. The 2010 line-up comprised more than 200 features, shorts and music videos from more than 40 countries.

The festival hosts juried cash awards for best narrative and documentary features, best narrative, documentary and animated short film. Audience awards are presented to the best documentary and narrative features, short film and music video.
