
After becoming A24’s best performing film worldwide at the weekend, Marty Supreme has also been confirmed as the company’s top earner in a number of international markets.
A24 has reported an updated worldwide gross through Sunday (February 8) of $148.8m for the Josh Safdie awards contender starring Timothee Chalamet, with $55.6m coming from international markets and $93.2m from North America.
The worldwide tally surpasses the $142.8m taken worldwide in 2022 by the company’s Everything Everywhere All At Once. (Marty overtook Everything Everywhere’s North American total of $77.2m several weeks ago.)
Marty is now A24’s biggest ever grosser in the UK, Australia/New Zealand, Poland, Norway, Turkey, Israel and Iceland.
The film’s biggest totals to date are $21m through Entertainment in the UK; $5.4m through A24 itself in Australia; $4.8m through I Wonder in Italy; just over $3m through Sun in Mexico; $2.5m through Sun in Spain; $1.9m through Unicorn/Monolith in Poland; $1.4m through Sun in Brazil; $1.1m through Nordisk in Norway; and $867,011 through Lev in Israel.
Starting on February 18 the film expands into markets including France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Denmark. A release in China is set for March 20.
Marty is currently nominated for nine Oscars and 11 Bafta film awards.
