The respected and experienced buyer has been named executive vice-president of acquisitions as the company seeks to ramp up the slate.

Brodlie most recently started up and ran Exclusive Releasing and oversaw acquisitions for parent company Exclusive Media. He will report to Relativity president Tucker Tooley.

Relativity’s recent acquisitions include Joseph Gordon Levitt’s directorial debut Don Jon and upcoming espionage thriller The November Man starring Pierce Brosnan that is scheduled to open on August 27.

The slate includes adventure Hector And The Search For Happiness  starring Simon Pegg set to arrive on September 26.

Prior to Exclusive Media, Brodlie ran Paramount’s worldwide acquisitions group and was responsible for local-language productions and co-productions for numerous territories.

Before that he served as svp of production and acquisitions for TriStar Pictures and was at Miramax for more than a decade, serving as svp of acquisitions and co-productions.
