EXCLUSIVE: BFI Distribution has acquired UK and Ireland rights to Sandra Wollner’s Everytime from Charades.
The film won the Un Certain Regard prize when it premiered in Cannes earlier this year and is Germany’s entry for best international feature at the Oscars.
BFI Distribution will release the title in cinemas early 2027, after the film has its UK premiere at the BFI London Film Festival in October. Further festival outings include New York, Toronto and Sarajevo, where it was awarded the Heart of Sarajevo Grand Prix.
Everytime centres on a mother, a daughter and a teenage boy who take a trip to Tenerife together following a tragic death. It stars Birgit Minichmayr, Lotte Shirin Keiling, Tristán López, Carla Hüttermann and Naomi Elia Richard.
The German-Austrian co-production was produced by Viktoria Stolpe of The Barricades and ZDF, with Lixi Frank and David Bohun at Austria’s Panama Film.
