SP Media Group’s Avenue Six Studios is launching a programme to provide “up to 100%” of production costs for film and TV projects shooting on its soundstages in Los Angeles or using its full suite of in-house services.

The studio did not say how much funding will be available for the programme, or specify on what basis funds will be allocated.

The move is the latest from SP Media Group chairman and CEO Steven Paul to promote production work in California and other parts of the US. Paul has recently been working alongside SP/Atlas Comics president Scott Karol and Jon Voight, one of US president Donald Trump’s ‘Hollywood Ambassadors,’ to advocate for federal legislation supporting US film and television production.

Avenue Six Studios, acquired by SP Media Group earlier this year, has four stages and a backlot in the Van Nuys district of Los Angeles. Its in-house services include cameras, grip and electric equipment, trucks and transportation, set design and construction, wardrobe and props, and editing and audio post-production services. The Last Firefighter, an upcoming feature produced by Paul and starring Voight and Kelsey Grammer, recently wrapped filming at the studio.

Paul commented: “Avenue Six is now a one-stop shop, and this financing initiative reinforces our commitment to bringing production back to Los Angeles. By combining world-class facilities with accessible financing, we’re making it easier than ever for filmmakers to create high-quality content right here at home.”

Karol added: “With the backing of SP Media Group, Avenue Six is entering an exciting new chapter. This financing programme will help bring more productions to our stages and further establish Avenue Six as one of the most producer-friendly studios in California.”
