Nora Fingscheidt’s The Outrun leads the film nominees for the Bafta Scotland Awards, with four nods including best feature film.
The drama about a woman who returns home in the Orkney Islands in Scotland is also nominated for director fiction, best actress film/television for Saoirse Ronan, and writer film/television for Fingscheidt and Amy Liptrot. It is produced by the UK’s Brock Media and Arcade Pictures.
The other best feature film nominees are Laura Carreira’s On Falling, which also sees Carreira nominated in the writing category, and Ciaran Lyons’ debut Tummy Monster.
Competition for Ronan in best actress include Tilda Swinton for The End, and Catherine McCormick for series Lockerbie: A Search For Truth, which has three nominations in total.
James McAvoy is among the actor nominees for Speak No Evil alongside James McArdle for Irish comedy feature Four Mothers and Ruaridh Mollica for Mikko Mäkelä’s Sebastian.
The ceremony will take place in Glasgow on November 16, hosted by Edith Bowman.
