‘Aquaman’

Warner Bros has pushed The Flash and Aquaman 2 from late 2022 into 2023 and moved Black Adam from this summer to October amid a flurry of calendar changes.

The date moves, which are likely due to post-production delays stemming from the pandemic, see Ezra Miller Justice League spin-off The Flash from It franchise director Andy Muschietti move from November 4 this year to June 23 2023.

Meanwhile Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom directed by James Wan and starring Jason Momoa (pictured with Amber Heard in Aquaman), Patrick Wilson, Heard and Nicole Kidman is pushed from December 16 of this year to March 17 2023.

Paul King’s Wonka inspired by the characters of Roald Dahl starring Timothée Chalamet, Rowan Atkinson, Olivia Colman and Sally Hawkins and set prior to events of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory moves from March 17 2023 to December 15 of next year. David Heyman is among the producers.

Two DC Entertainment collaborations with Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions are on the move. Animation DC League Of Super Pets is moved from May 20 of this year to July 29 of this year, bumping Black Adam from the latter date to October 21.

Johnson announced the date changes on Instagram on Wednesday morning (9) and said superhero adaptation Black Adam, which sees the star reunite with Jungle Cruise director Jaume Collet-Serra, will play through Thanksgiving and into the December holidays.

Shazam! Fury Of The Gods has been brought forward from June 2 2023 to December 16 of this year and stars Zachary Levi, West Side Story’s Rachel Zegler and Helen Mirren.

The Meg 2 has been set for release on August 4 2023 and sees the return of Jason Statham alongside Chinese superstar Wu Jing, who directed and starred in the Wolf Warrior franchise and also starred in The Wandering Earth. Ben Wheatley directs.
