Content will handle international sales on Nothing To Fear, the first film from Slasher Films.

Thomas Haden Church is in negotiations to star.

Slasher was recently set up by veteran producers Michael Williams and Rob Eric with rocker Slash.

Anthony Leonardi III will direct his feature debut. He has worked on creature and storyboard design for Gore Verbinski on films such as Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End and Rango.

“Our mission at Slasher Films has been to create genre films that defy the genre stereotypes,” said Slash. “The team of Anthony and Thomas elevate an already frightening story with a unique vision and powerful artistry.”

The story follows a family in a small town who are charmed by a conflicted preacher. It is based on the real town of Stull, Kansas, which is discussed on the internet as one of the seven gateways to hell.

Content Film president Jamie Carmichael said: “The alchemy of combining the Slasher Films brand, Slash himself and visionary director Anthony Leonardi makes Nothing To Fear incredibly exciting. Slash has a direct connection to his audience through his musical work and his highly successful social networking. He also has a deep understanding and passion for genre films and Nothing To Fear will benefit enormously from all these connections and networks.”

The film will shoot in Louisiana starting in late October, with Upload Films executive producing and co-financing alongside new investment outfit Midlife Crisis Productions.

Shaun Redick and Ray Mansfield of Movie Package Company negotiated the financing and will also executive produce.
