Joe Dante has endorsed a crowdsourcing campaign to raise $50,000 towards production costs on Nick Basile’s [pictured] thriler.

Dark takes place in New York City during the 2003 blackout as a disturbed young woman becomes stranded in a Brooklyn loft.

Whitney Able and Alexandra Breckenridge are attached to star and Elias wrote the screenplay.

“I’ve always been attracted to projects by young filmmakers who are trying to do something within their means,” said Dante, who serves as executive producer.
