Rising Sun Pictures has announced it has appointed Mark Patterson as head of production and development for its new production division Rising Sun Entertainment.

Patterson most recently produced the Australian/Chinese co-production The Dragon Pearl, has worked with auteur director Paul Cox on a number of films including Innocence, and is a former head of development for the South Australian Film Corporation.

Rising Sun is one of a handful worldclass visual effects houses in Australia. It worked on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Parts I and II) and Green Lantern.
