Bradley Cooper will play an author who pays a price for stealing another man’s work in The Words, which Lisa Wilson’s Parlay Films is introducing to buyers at the EFM.

Jeremy Irons is in talks to join the drama and would reunite with financier Benaroya Pictures, who also funded the financial crisis thriller MarginCall that screens in competition here.

Tron Legacy writers Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal will make their feature directorial debuts based on their Black List screenplay that came out of the Sundance Screenwriter’s Lab. Waterfall Media/Untitled represents US rights.

Michael Benaroya is producing with Animus Films’ Jim Young and Serena Films’ Tatiana Kelly. Filmula’s Johnny Lin is in talks to co-finance and may end up taking a producer credit. Untitled Entertainment’s Laura Rister and Cassian Elwes packaged TheWords and serve as executive producers.

Klugman and Sternthal are currently developing a sci-fi franchise for Blacklight Transmedia and Imagine Entertainment.
