Billy Crudup, Anton Yelchin, Spring Breakers star Selena Gomez [pictured] and Laurence Fishburne have joined William H Macy and Felicity Huffman on Unified Pictures’ music drama Rudderless. Radiant Films International handles sales outside the US and will introduce in Cannes.

Macy makes his feature directorial debut on the story of a grieving father who forms a band after he stumbles across a box of his deceased son’s original music.

Production on Rudderless is scheduled to commence in April in Oklahoma. Casey Twenter and Jeff Robison adapted the screenplay from an original story they wrote with Macy.

Keith Kjarval produces through his Unified Pictures production and financing entity. Brad Greiner is also producing through his Amberdale production company.

Unified’s A Single Shot and Trust Me are in the Tribeca Film Festival line-up. Kjarval recently signed Oscar nominee John Stevenson and Cameron Hood to the company’s first animation, Noah’s Ark.

“Bill Macy is a profoundly talented artist and to surround him with such a diverse variety of tremendous actors makes us extremely confident this film will deliver on every level,” said Kjarval.
