Irish director Karl Golden’s latest film stars Jack O’Connell and Henry Lloyd Thomas as two friends experiences of the rave scene in the 1990s.

Shooting has begun in London on Karl Golden’s new film Weekender, starring Jack O’Connell and Henry Lloyd Thomas.

Emily Barclay, Ben Batt, Stephen Wight and Tom Meeten also star in the film about two friends’ adventures in the hedonistic world of warehouse parties during the UK’s acid house explosion in 1990. The script has been written by Chris Coghill.

Golden’s previous credits include Pelican Blood and Honeymooners.

Benchmark Films/Foundation Films’ Ian Brady and Stephen Salter and Alliance Films’ Robert Walak are producing, with Xavier Marchand, David Hayman and Mark Jaffray exec producing.

The film will be distributed in the UK by Momentum Pictures, Alliance Films in Canada and Aurum Producciones in Spain.
