Maverick German director Uwe Boll has been reunited with the Vancouver-based independent production house Brightlight Pictures Inc. for his new feature project The Bailout which has begun shooting in the Canadian city before travelling to New York.

The action thriller centres on an ordinary New Yorker who goes on the rampage shooting investment bankers as a way of exacting revenge after losing everything in the Wall Street meltdown on 2008.

According to a German press report, the leads have been cast with Dominic Purcell, Erin Karpluk, Edward Furlong, John Heard and Keith David. Other parts are taken by Boll regulars Michael Pare and Natassia Malthe, Michael Eklund, and Eric Roberts.

Brightlight Pictures has been a partner on many of Boll’s previous films including Darfur, In The Name Of The King, both Bloodrayne films, Postal and Alone In The Dark.
