The Wroclaw-based festival will close with Pedro Almodovar’s The Skin I Live In.
Asghar Farhadi’s Berlin Golden Bear winning Nader And Simin, A Separation is to open the 11th edition of the New Horizons International Film Festival in Wroclaw, Poland.
The festival, which runs July 21-31, will close with Pedro Almodovar’s Cannes competition film The Skin I Live In.
Screening in the festival’s main international competition section will be Urszula Antoniak’s Code Blue, Paula Markovitch’s El Premio and Nanouk Leopold’s Brownian Movement. The competition will be judged by jury members including Frédéric Boyer, Anocha Suwichakornpong and Denis Côté.
Kim Ki-Duk’s Arirang and Marie Losier’s The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye, will feature in the Films on Art International Competition, whilst the New Polish Films competition will include the world premiere of Wilhelm Sasnal’s It Looks Pretty From A Distance.
The festival will also feature retrospectives of Terry Gilliam and Bruno Dumont as well as a focus on Norwegian cinema and a special concert performed by Nick Cave.
