Artificial Eye has picked up UK rights and DCM has German speaking rights to the film about Chinese artist Ai Weiwei.

Independent Film Company has sold Alison Klayman’s Sundance award winning documentary Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry to Artificial Eye in the UK and to DCM in German-speaking Europe.

The doc screened in the Berlinale Special Screenings. Independent is handling international sales, with Cinetic Media handling North America as part of their collaboration - Cinetic at Independent.

Independent’s managing director Andrew Orr negotiated the deal for the film, which tells the story of China’s most famous international artist and outspoken domestic critic against a backdrop of strict censorship.
