Lionsgate’s action romp Kick-Ass won the weekend box office race in North American when all was said and done, opening top on $19.8m.

DreamWorks Animation-Paramount’s How To Train Your Dragon finished second on $19.6m for $158.3m ater four weekends.

Warner Bros’ Clash Of The Titans tumbled four spots to number five and has grossed an underwhelming $132.9m after three weekends. Fox’s Date Night dropped to third on $17.3m for $49.2m in its second weekend.

Screen Gems opened the comedy remake Death At A Funeral in fourth on a mediocre $17m. Neil LaBute directed the remake of the 2007 original, and Chris Rock stars.

Roadside Attractions launched the 2009 Toronto entry The Joneses on $554,00 in 193 theatres. Juan Jose Campanella’s foreign language Oscar winner The Secret In Their Eyes opened on $176,000 from ten sites through SPC.

Banksy’s directorial debut Exit Through The Gift Shop, a big hit in Sundance, was distributed by PDA and launched on an impressive $166,000 from eight.

Next weekend’s wide releases are CBS Film’s romantic comedy The Back-Up Plan starring Jennifer Lopez; Warner Bros’ action film The Losers with Zoe Saldana, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Idris Elba; and Disney’s nature documentary Oceans.
