Voltage takes on international sales to Toronto premiere Conviction

Nicolas Chartier’s Voltage Pictures has taken on international sales rights to the Hilary Swank drama Conviction ahead of its world premiere here tonight [11].

Voltage’s Nadine De Barros and Jenn Lee negotiated the deal with financier Oceana.

Fox Searchlight holds North American rights as well as the UK, Australia, New Zealand, French-speaking territories, South Africa and Japan.

Tony Goldwyn directed from Pamela Gray’s screenplay about a high school dropout who spent nearly two decades working as a single mother while putting herself through law school to overturn her brother’s unjust murder conviction.

Sam Rockwell also stars alongside Melissa Leo, Juliette Lewis, Peter Gallagher and Minnie. Searchlight has set a North American release for October.

Goldwyn produced with Andrew Sugerman, Andrew S Karsch, while Swank, Markus Barmettler, James Smith, Anthony Callie and Alwyn Hight Kushner served as executive producers.
