EXCLUSIVE: Bartek Konopka’s debut Fear Of Falling is EoF’s first European title.

Wide Management’s new festival and distribution label EoF (Eye On Films), which launched at Berlin this year, has confirmed Bartek Konopka’s debut Fear Of Falling as its first European title.

The Polish feature, about the difficult relationship between a son and his mentally ill father, was completed last week and screens in the market, with a Polish distribution deal imminent.

EoF promotes first time directors by securing national distribution and festival screenings.

The scheme has also announced two new partners: distributor Cinefile (UK) and the Galway Film Festival. Cinefile will release the first EoF title Oliver Sherman in the UK and Ireland, while the Galway Film Festival will screen the film as part of its official section.

Ryan Redford’s Sherman has already secured distribution in France and Hungary thanks to the EoF initiative.

Konopka’s Rabbit A La Berlin was among the eight titles shortlisted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences ahead of the nominations for the 2010 Oscar for Best Documentary Short. Fear Of Falling was made with the assistance of acclaimed Polish director Agnieszka Holland.

More than 90 films where submitted by worldwide producers and sales agents for EoF pre-selection, and 20 films are currently under consideration by the EoF partners, comprising 30 distributors and film festivals in Europe and the rest of the world.
