Hot projects on Screenbase this week
Noémie Lvovsky, Mathieu Amalric, Yolande Moreau, Soko and Vincent Lindon star in new French dramas added this week to Screen’s European online film index, Screenbase.
Vincent Lindon and Soko will headline the cast in Alice Winocour’s romantic drama Augustine about a 19th century doctor and his patient who grow close as he studies her unknown disease. Winocour also wrote the screenplay. Isabelle Madelaine and Emilie Tisné produce for Dharamsala, with ARP Sélection and France 3 Cinema as co-producers.
The $6.3m film received funding from Canal +, CNC, Ciné+, the Région Ile-de-France and the GAN Cinema Foundation. Shooting will kick off on November 21 with ARP Sélection distributing across France and Kinology selling the film internationally.
This week shooting commenced on Noémie Lvovsky’s Camille Redouble, which centres on a couple that is getting divorced after being married for 25 years. One evening, the woman is transported back to when she was 16 and met her husband, and confronted with the choice to change their lives.
Lvovsky co-wrote the script with Florence Seyvos, Pierre-Olivier Mattei and Maude Ameline, and also takes on the lead role in the $5.7m drama which also stars Mathieu Amalric and Yolande Moreau among others. France 2 Cinema, Ciné@ and F Comme Film are jointly co-producing, with Canal + and Ciné+ having provided financial backing. Shooting is scheduled to wrap in Paris in early December.
