Roman Polanski is working on his new project The God Of Carnage, while the Louis Pergaud novel War Of The Buttons (La Guerre Des Boutons) will be adapted again for the big screen and Russell Owen is shooting his debut feature, Welcome To The Majority, in the UK.

Polanski is currently preparing the shoot for his latest feature The God Of Carnage, which will take place from the end of this month in Paris. The French-German co-production (SBS Films and Constantin Film Produktion) will star Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz and John C. Reilly as two sets of parents who decide to have a cordial meeting after their sons are involved in a schoolyard brawl. The film is based on the play by Yasmin Reza. Cineart will distribute across the Benelux countries.

Yann Samuell wrote the screenplay and will direct the new adaption of Louis Pergaud’s 1912 adventure novel War Of The Buttons. Produced by Marc Dupontavice and Didier Lupfer for One World Films, the $17.2m (€12.8m) film will star Mathilde Seinger. Shooting will start in mid-April in southern France and UGC will release the adventure comedy on November 23. TF1 International holds worldwide rights.

Welcome To The Majority is currently shooting on location in England and Wales and centres on eight individuals who believe they are the last people left alive when the world ends. First-time director Russell Owen also wrote the screenplay. Olegar Fedoro, Keatton Makki and Francis Woolf are among the cast in this production by Castle Valley Films, with Helen L. Alexander as producer. Completion is set for May this year.
