Producer-director Zoe Quist has cast Judd Nelson, Jonathan Bennett, Daniel Ponickly and Antoinette Kalaj to play the leads in her upcoming Mining For Ruby.
Daniel Ponickly wrote the screenplay about a widower who falls for an environmental science student with a troubled past.
Production is set to commence this month in Alaska. Lock & Monkey Productions principals Quist, Daniel Ponickly and Daniel Lawrence Abrams produce while William St Pierre and Maya Salganek serve as executive producers.
“Tackling such hot-button topics like clinical depression and environmental activism in a romantic drama is immensely challenging,” said Quist. “But with this talented cast and thoughtful script I feel that our movie will really resonate with indie film audiences,”
