Knoxville and Patton Oswalt star in Todd Rohal’s untitled follow-up to this year’s Sundance entry The Catechism Cataclysm.

The story is loosely based on Rohal’s experiences growing up and tells of battling brothers who honour their ailing father’s wish and take a group of boys on an ill-fated camping trip. Rob Riggle, Maura Tierney and Patrice O’Neal round out the cast.

Marc Turtletaub and Peter Saraf’s Big Beach Films is financing the project and Turtletaub, Saraf and Lisa Muskat are producing. David Gordon Green serves as executive producer and Michael Clark and John Hodges will oversee production for Big Beach.

“Todd looks at the world through a different set of lenses than the rest of us, and yet his vision managers to be simultaneously unique and universal,” Saraf said. “I think that’s because his humour, while twisted at times, is fundamentally compassionate and truthful.”

Big Beach’s Our Idiot Brother starring Paul Rudd is set to open through TWC this week.
