English screenwriter Matthew Greenhalgh, whose credits include Nowhere Boy and Control, is making his first foray into film directing with short film Acid Burn.

English model and singer Agness Deyn and And When Did You Last See Your Father? star Matthew Beard will take the lead roles in the story about two teenagers attending a Catholic school. When one of the teenagers, who is heavily into the acid scene, takes the other on a wild night out it ends with drastic consequences.

It is set in 1988 in Manchester and shooting will begin this weekend (May 23-24).
