The New York-based sales agent, not to be confused with Cargo Entertainment, has acquired international distribution rights to recent Slamdance premiere Kung Fu Elliot.

The film won the Slamdance Grand Jury Prize for best documentary and screened in Park City in January as Elliot.

Jaret Belliveau and Matthew Bauckman co-directed and David Eberts produced Kung Fu Elliot, about an aspiring martial artist and filmmaker whose dreams of becoming Canada’s equivalent of Chuck Norris mask dark secrets.

Steven C Beer of Franklin, Weinrib, Rudell & Vassallo, PC brokered the deal on behalf of the filmmakers with David Piperni of Cargo Film & Releasing.
