Taiwanese distributor Hiatus Media has acquired all Hong Kong rights for Mathieu Amalric’s On Tour (Tournée).

Hiatus had previously acquired the rights for Taiwan during Cannes, where the film won the Best Director and FIPRESCI awards.

Amalric’s comedy/drama about a group of American burlesque performers touring across France, opened the Hong Kong French Film Festival on Friday, November 26.

Stars of the film and burlesque performers Mimi le Meux and Kitten on the Keys took part in a live performance before the screening.

“We are excited to bring Tournée to Hong Kong in addition to Taiwan, and look forward to working in this new market. Hong Kong is so close to Taiwan, and yet the business environment is very different. This presents many new opportunities for Hiatus and fits well with the long term plans for the company,” said Han T. Sun of Hiatus Media in a statement.

Formed in 2010, Hiatus Media’s recent acquisitions includes the 2010 Cannes Palme d’Or winner Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives, I Am Love and Canada’s Oscar submission for Best Foreign Language film Incendies.
