EXCLUSIVE: Matteo Lovadina’s Reel Suspects has been closing multiple deals on its EFM slate.

Tara Johns’ debut feature, The Year Dolly Parton Was My Mom (a world premiere at the market) [pictured], as been snapped up by Peccadillo Pictures for the UK and Ireland.

X-Femmes, the controversial portmanteau picture featuring erotic shorts directed by Melanie Laurent, Blanca Li, Zoe Cassavetes, Anna Mouglalis, Arielle Dombasle, Lola Doillon, Laetitia Masson, Helena Noguerra, Caroline Loeb and Tonie Marshall has been sold to: Germany (8 Films), South Korea (Green Narae Media) and Italy (Ripleys).

Vanishing Waves (also a world premiere in the market) has gone to South Korea (Green Narae Media). The film, in post-production, is the second feature by Kristina Buozyte. The Lithuanian/ French co-production is billed as a “psychological techno thriller.”

Just prior to EFM, Reel Suspects, launched last year, closed another deal on Laurent Bouhnik’s hot-selling erotic satire Q with Russia (Carmen Film).

The company also closed a deal on new rock’n’roll drama Hated by director Lee Madsen for Australia and New Zealand with Accent Film Entertainment.

At the EFM, Reel Suspects has also been pre-selling The Second Death, the debut feature film from Argentinian director Santiago Fernandez.
