The festival, which runs March 24 - April 1, is launching an annual “Life In Film” interview with a leading film director

The Oxford Literary Festival is launching A Life In Film, an annual interview with a leading film director.

This focus of this year’s festival will be Sir Alan Parker, who will be interviewed by producer and festival trustee Graham Benson.

During a career spanning more than 30 years, Parker was nominated for a best director Oscar for both Midnight Express and Mississippi Burning. He has been chairman of both the British Film Institute and the UK Film Council and a persistent critic of the British film establishment.

The interview will take place on March 25.
